Together in Purpose

Dear Southwest Public Schools Families,

As I begin serving as Superintendent of Southwest Public Schools, I want to share how grateful I am for the opportunity to return to a district that means so much to me.

Having served in Southwest before, I know the heart of this community, the dedication of our staff, and the tremendous potential of our students. I also understand the trust you place in us when you choose Southwest Public Schools for your child.

As we begin this new chapter, our focus will be clear: Together in Purpose. Together in Progress.

Our purpose is to prepare every student for success in college, career, military service, and life. Our progress is reflected in maintaining high expectations while ensuring students have the instruction, support, enrichment, and opportunities they need to grow and succeed.

I believe every child deserves access to rigorous, grade-level learning and high-quality instruction. We will be intentional about knowing where students are academically, monitoring their progress, responding when they need additional support, and ensuring they have opportunities to succeed in a safe environment.

I also believe education is more than test scores. Enrichment, exposure, engagement, and meaningful experiences can open doors for students and help them see possibilities for their future. For some students, the opportunities we provide at Southwest may be experiences they would not otherwise have, and that responsibility matters deeply to me.

As Superintendent, I am committed to listening to our families, visiting our campuses, learning from our community, and keeping students at the center of our decisions. You are an important partner in this work, and I look forward to working alongside you as we continue strengthening Southwest Public Schools.

My commitment is simple: we will continue moving forward with high expectations, accountability, opportunity, and a shared determination to do what is best for our children.

I am excited to be back home and honored to serve your families.

Together in Purpose. Together in Progress.

With appreciation,

Michael Love, Ed.D.
